Park Day

What was meant to be a day at a Regional Park an hour away from us quickly turned into a local park day when we realized right before we got on the freeway that it was already 1pm and we had forgotten the directions.  Fail.  But, we ended up with a lovely picnic and some awesomely lovey-gushy family time.

Pure bliss.
Proof that Little B was there too!

This is one awesome slide.  She was fine going up the stairs.

But not so fine at the top.

We had to take the picture to create the illusion that we braved the slide.

Of course, Big B had to try it out to make sure it was safe.  That's what dads are for, right?

We finally got her to slide down the last few feet.

And Daddy again had to show her how it's done.

She's awake!

Hanging Out at Home

I love pictures of my girls in their natural element (though I think E would argue that our natural element is actually Target).
One of my favorite dresses on Little B, so I had to get a picture, of course (and yes, it's from Target).

I caught E doing this while playing dress-up.  It's almost exactly like a picture my parents have of me at this age, making this same face, wearing 8 dress-up dresses layered on top of each other.  And a purple wig.

E set up a whole tea party for herself and Little B.  It was that first moment where they really played together without any motherly interaction.  It was awesome.

Love those girls.

The Real Mother's Day

I love this little dress that E wore on Mother's Day so much that we had to do a little photo shoot.

And we came home to this!!!!!!  Happy Mother's Day to me!

Mother's Day (or, as we like to say Mothers' Day)

Yes, Mother's Day is to celebrate your singular mother, but it's really a day to celebrate all mothers in whatever form they may come (biological, adopted, grandmother, etc.), so I still think it should be Mothers' Day. 'Nuff said.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, I saw a flier with the Eiffel Tower on it.  And if something features "The Eiffel," as B calls it, or anything French, it draws me in.  Because Paris is my second home.  The home of my soul, you could say.  I studied in Paris, and c'est incroyable.  So I grabbed the flier, and saw it was a Mother's Day picnic with a French theme.  Ummmm....so totally there.

So the day before Mother's Day, we picked up some sandwiches and headed over to Heritage Park.  And it was awesome.

While we were there, we checked out the historical section of Heritage park.  Here's the old barn.

And the one-room schoolhouse (schuulhouse...go watch Megamind) that's been converted into a musem.

And the beautiful old church.

Awesome, awesome day. J'aime ma famille!
